Meet a few of our alpaca superstars!
Prada
Prada is the pride and joy of her mother, Chanel, and both have the luxurious fleeces and stunningly beautiful look that you’d expect with those sorts of high-end names!
Just like mummy Chanel, Prada is both sweet and sassy all at once. She holds her tail up primly and properly when called, but will often come over to you for a scratch when you do! Be sure to treat Prada to a gentle shoulder rub and she might reward you with a special “giggle”, alpaca style. In fact, she loves a good chat, so be sure to speak to Prada in a calm voice for a unique reply!
Prada is also a self-professed foodie. Watch her run over for her lunch and devour everything within reach. Just be sure she’s dabbed her mouth with a napkin before planting one of her famous kisses on your cheek!
Where to find her: Spot Prada taking centre-stage in a selfie or near the food bowl on your next farm tour.
Inferno
This big chunky hunk of love adores all the hugs and snugs from our visitors! Make sure you spend lots of time with Inferno while on your Farm Tour. He loves brisket scratchies and will repay you with a wag of his floofy tail while leaning on you (lovingly, of course!). To get your attention and win a scratchy scrunch, Inferno will show off by rolling round with a food bowl on his head, never afraid to embarrass himself in front of his fellow alpacas.
Inferno is particularly photogenic thanks to his big, puppy dog brown eyes. They’ll win you over for sure, gazing up at you while he uses your lap as a pillow!
Where to find him: Catch Inferno in the sunniest spot on the farm – your tour guide will happily point him out to you.
Rising Sun
I’m a bit of celebrity around the farm and on social media.
My fleece is super soft and luxurious, but even more than that, I’m apparently a one-of-a-kind, perfect specimen of an alpaca! I’m also as lovable as I am handsome, so pop into Shamarra Alpacas for a tour and a pat.
Where to find him: Catch Rising Sun wherever the light sparkles on his best side for your next artistic shot.
Harlequin
A glamorous damsel through and through, I’m a big fan of being groomed well ahead of a photo op (your next selfie on a farm tour). My big eyes look even better when my fleece is on fleek. And I’ve been known to wear the odd denim jacket or hat, depending on the season.
But don’t be intimidated by my flair for fashion; I’m always up for a solid cuddle like my other friends!
Where to find her: Spot Harlequin closely following your tour group for lots of admiration and snuggles.
Tornado
I absolutely adore wee human kiddos and alpaca babies alike!
Arguably the friendliest of all the furry faces here at Shamarra, I like to get visits and snuggles year-round.
Where to find him: Tornado can be found right next to you, nuzzling into your side as a not-so-subtle hint that a hug is required.
