I’m a bit of celebrity around the farm and on social media. My fleece is super soft and luxurious, but even more than that, I’m apparently a one-of-a-kind, perfect specimen of an alpaca! I’m also as lovable as I am handsome, so pop into Shamarra Alpacas for a tour and a pat.

A glamorous damsel through and through, I’m a big fan of being groomed well ahead of a photo op (your next selfie on a farm tour). My big eyes look even better when my fleece is on fleek. And I’ve been known to wear the odd denim jacket or hat, depending on the season.

But don’t be intimidated by my flair for fashion; I’m always up for a solid cuddle like my other friends.

I absolutely adore wee human kiddos and alpaca babies alike! Arguably the friendliest of all the furry faces here at Shamarra, I like to get visits and snuggles year-round.

We are open for farm tours. 

New Zealand has moved to the traffic light system (COVID-19 Protection Framework) and in accordance with this, we will be following the below steps:

  • The welfare of our staff, visitors and of course our alpacas, is paramount and we have robust Covid-19 policies in place to ensure you have a safe experience. Please follow the instructions given by our staff.
  • Please use our hand sanitising stations on arrival.
  • If you are feeling unwell, please DO NOT visit.

Cancellations, Changes to Bookings, and Refunds

In the event of an Alert Level Change that stops you from joining your tour, we will offer to reschedule your booking to another date or issue a refund.

    Well organized, educational, but also so much fun! The tour started with information about the alpacas, but quickly moved into getting to pet, feed, and observe them. The ratio of group size to staff members was perfect. The staff provided helpful instructions for how to be kind and safe with the alpacas, while also answering every question we had.
