Polar Blast hits NZ! The second snow storm in three weeks blasted its way up the country, and blanketed Banks Peninsula in more snow than the earlier storm. The barn accommodates the females and cria and they are making the most of their comfortable lodging. The males have a shed that they have made good use of too.

December 2009
December saw the arrival of our new stud male, Shanbrooke Accoyo Protege (ET) and our two females, Banksia Park KOK Destiny Child (ET) and Traron Tiamo. They arrived in excellent condition after a month of quarantine at Mariah Hill in Victoria, and adjusted quickly to their new environment and herd mates.
The Whangarei A&P Show on December 6th was another successful event, convened superbly by Mike Moller. We entered three intermediate males that all placed, with Shamarra Fausto (pictured) being award Mid/Dark Fawn Reserve Champion in the Composite Class.
Our first Shanbrooke Society Razor Sharp (ET) cria started arriving in December and all three are very impressive. We are delighted that the cria born are colour - rose grey, light fawn and dark fawn to date, out of dams that are either colour or have colour in their genetics.

Shanbrooke Accoyo Protege ET
The latest addition to our herdsires is this outstanding young male, sired by Shanbrooke Accoyo Yavari (sire of 2 Australian National Supreme Champions) and out of Shanbrooke Accoyo Taquile. Taquile has produced champion after champion including the 2008 Australian Supreme Champion - Prodigy, full brother of Protege. 2009 AAA National show successes include Junior Female Champion and Adult Female Champion that are both daughters of Taquile. She also won Get of Dam.
Females are a high priority in our herd and we had the opportunity to purchase two superb females at the AAA 2009 National Show.
Banksia Park KOK Destiny Child ET is a fawn, super fine female (16.5u, 3.7sd, 100%cf) backed by excellent genetics - sired by BP Khan ET and out of BP Peruvian Destiny.
Destiny Child has had many showring successes, including Junior Female Reserve Champion, a significant accomplishment for a medium fawn alpaca.
Well conformed with a gentle nature, we expect Destiny Child will produce cria of superior quality.
Traron Tiamo boasts remarkable fleece stats - 2.9 sd, 14.7 cv, 99.6% cf and 18.5sf, more common in merino than alpaca. Her 9 month cria fleece weighed an impressive 3kg. Tiamo's sire is Traron Everest (Jolimont Trovatello and Jolimont Blooming) and dam Traron Vogue. Her sire, Jolimont Diodoro, at 10 years old had a comfort factor of 98%.
This stylish female has a successful showing career, having won her class every time.
